Teachers

PRINCIPAL - Morag Alexander

Trained at the West End School of Dancing, Hamilton, in RAD Ballet, ISTD Ballet, Modern, National and Tap.  Won a three year Royal Ballet Scholarship at the age of ten.

Professional engagements include BBC White Heather Club TV and Stage Show.  STV Stewart Style and Thingamijig, BBC Castles in the Air.  Stage Shows include London Palladium, Royal Command Performance, Howard and Wyndham Theatre tour and Pantomime with Stanley Baxter, Ronnie Corbert, Johnny Beatty and Jimmy Logan.

Since opening the school in 1971 many pupils have completed their training and have now successful careers in Ballet, Theatre, TV and Teaching.  The School has grown to be one of the top Theatre Schools in Scotland and enjoys a highly qualified staff.

 

HEAD TEACHER - Christine Bowtle

Christine Bowtle studied for three years as a full-time student with Morag Alexander where she qualified as ARAD Ballet, AISTD Ballet and Modern, and ISTD Associate Modern.

Upon completing her training Christine danced professionally in stage shows in England, Japan and throughout Europe.

Christine joined the School in 2001 as a member of the teaching staff.

TEACHER - Pamela Ross

Pamela Ross attended Preston Dance College after being a pupil at the Morag Alexander School of Dancing between the ages of three to eighteen.

She is presently Registered and studying for her CBTS in the Royal Academy of Dance Teacher Training Programme.

TEACHER - Louise Cassley

Louise Cassley attended the Morag Alexander of Dancing between the ages of three to eighteen.  She then studied full-time at the Northern Ballet School, Manchester before continuing to dance professionally in Europe.  

Louise joined the school as a member of the teaching staff in 2006.
