Inspired by the 16th Century painting
"Parable of the Blind" by the Dutch artist Bruegal, this work is carved from a
fragrant Cedar (Cedrela Fissilus) obtained from a sustainable source. The work
illustrates the Biblical parable from St Matthew: "If the blind lead the blind then
both shall fall in the ditch". The work opens to reveal the deeper meaning that
inner blindness is a greater defect than blindness of the eyes.
